The Cleveland Trial

The Cleveland Trial – with a history dating back to 1951 is a traditional single lap, road based National, the premier and only surviving National event in the EYC calendar.

Held annually every March, the trial based in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park around the villages of Castleton, Danby, fryup and Ainthorpe, it has a rich heritage with some legendary names on the winners trophy.

Section groups Birks Wood, Clitherbeck and Crossleyside are all parts of trials folklore. But the groups, Stormy Hall and Blackmires offer spectacular sections and are a spectators favourite.

A great trial for experts and clubman alike, if you have never ridden it – definitely one for the bucket list!
